Join Minnesota Citizens for the Arts and our National Partners at Americans For The Arts (AFTA) for National Arts Advocacy Zoom-In Week (May 13th-17th). National Arts Advocacy Zoom-In Week is an opportunity for you to be an advocate from the comfort of your own home or office alongside other arts advocates from your state. The Arts Advocacy Zoom-In Week will allow arts advocates to participate in virtual meetings with congressional offices representing your state to advocate for increased funding for the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, and arts education.
Register for FREE by May 7, 2024 at 12:00pm ET for National Arts Advocacy Zoom-In Week and MCA and AFTA will connect you to your state's virtual meetings. These meetings will be scheduled by MCA and will take place sometime between 10 AM - 4PM CT between May 13-14th.
Legacy Bill Moving Through State Capitol
This past Tuesday the Minnesota House of Representatives approved a supplementary Legacy Funding Bill, which could increase state arts funding in FY25. The Legacy bill, authored by "Arts All Star" recipient Rep. Leon Lillie, garnered robust bipartisan backing, passing with a vote of 118-13.
