Arts Alert: The Path to Justice

Dear Minnesota Arts Advocates,

Minnesota Citizens for the Arts (MCA) joins our community and the world in a deep breath of relief following the conviction of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd. Even with this important ruling by a jury of Derek Chauvin’s peers, our work is not complete. The path toward justice involves our continued efforts to build equity and inclusion into our work in support of the Minnesota arts community, especially our artists who are, and arts organizations led by, Black, Indigenous and People of Color. 

The MCA board of directors is deepening its commitment toward a just future with the creation of a working group that will embed a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our work. We look forward to keeping you informed of our work and inviting you to be part of it.
