Arts Alert: Can’t get to the Capitol today for Arts Advocacy Day? Send your legislators a note!

Can’t make it to Minnesota’s

because of the storm?

Please send a quick note to your legislators telling them
the importance of the arts in your community.

Your legislators need to know that their constituents support the arts.

Please take five minutes using the link below.

Thank your legislators for state arts funding!

There’s a pre-written and addressed note you can send, or you can add your own thoughts. Thanks!

What else can you do?

Whether you can attend or not, you can do much from your smart phone or desktop, including:

  • “Like” your legislators on Facebook / follow them on Twitter
  • Create a 20 second “thank you” video to tell legislators about your Legacy/arts grant impact on the state (particularly your district)Example: “Thank you Senator Dick Cohen, Senator Sandy Pappas and Representative Carlos Mariani for Legacy Funds that let us inspire 30,000 teens from all over Minnesota!”
  • Be sure to include @mncitizen, #ArtsDay2018 and #MNLeg in your social media posts. For example:
  • SAMPLE: @Parksquare sends a big THANK YOU to @Cmarianirosa #MNLeg #ArtsDay2018 for your support of Legacy and MN State Arts Board Funds that help us inspire 30,000 teens from every MN congressional district with meaningful live theatre and hands on learning!
  • And for those (like me) who love good old fashioned mail, a quick handwritten note to your legislators will be a huge boost to our presence this week.

Many thanks to all you wonderful Arts Advocates for all you do to advance our cause at the capitol!! Stay safe and remember your phone, email, stationary and social media tools help win the day!
