Tanya MB Gertz is the Executive Director of Fine Arts Programming at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University (CSB/SJU) in St. Joseph and Collegeville, MN. Gertz began at CSB/SJU in September 2016 with 20 years in nonprofit experience.
Previously, Gertz was the director of campus programming at Luther College (IA) for 12 years. Gertz has a wholistic, inclusive vision for artist selection, brings a community building approach and is committed to artistic experiences that lead to meaningful impact. She views her season, and the way it’s lived out, as her art in this world. Passionate about the arts and their value, Gertz celebrates that they nourish community vitality, growth, and connection.
In 2015, Gertz was selected as one of 24 participants in the inaugural cohort of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters’ Leadership Fellows Program, administered through the University of Southern California. The program was dedicated to arts leadership for our changing world. She is currently a member of Minnesota Presenters Network, was president of Iowa Arts Presenters from 2006-2016, co-chair for the 2011 Arts Midwest Conference as well as an APAP Emerging Leader. She frequently mentors and supports new members of the field. Before arts presenting, Tanya worked in Chicago at the Northwestern Memorial Foundation, the AIDS Pastoral Care Network, and served with Lutheran Volunteer Corps.< Back
