Tammy Makram

I have served in the local arts community since I was in high school and worked with the Community Theater Group the Green Earth Players. When I returned to Luverne, after living in Los Angeles, I became the Executive Director for Arts & Humanities in Rock County, overseeing the Fine Arts, Green Earth Players, Carnegie Cultural Center and Palace Theatre. I remained on the board of directors for the Blue Mound Area Theater for a number of years until I was hired into my current position of Managing Director for Memorial Auditorium Performing Arts Center in Worthington. I also serve as the consultant for the Friends of the Auditorium, assisting them in producing programming for Memorial Auditorium. I am a part of the Minnesota Presenters Network and served as president of that organization and as a member of its board of directors.

Coincidentally, I served as an intern for the Minnesota Citizens for the Arts under executive director, Megan Jones, back in the early ‘80s. I spent an entire summer learning about arts advocacy.

Things have come full circle.
