Minnesota’s Arts Advocacy Praised on National Stage!
Americans for the Arts held its annual convention in San Francisco last week, and if you were one of the 1000 people who showed up at MCA’s Arts Advocacy Day this session, your picture was displayed at several plenary sessions in front of convention.
- Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader of the U.S. House said that for arts advocacy the “Minnesota model is one that everyone should follow.”
- Bob Lynch, Executive Director of Americans for the Arts, called out MCA as a great example as well and congratulated all of you 1000 arts advocates who came to MCA’s Arts Advocacy Day.
- In addition, Sheila Smith, MCA’s Executive Director, did a presentation at a breakout about MCA’s successful Legacy Amendment passage and what it has meant to Minnesota’s arts community.
